Zora Mae Cole Bridges Barron age 94, of Louisburg, KS, passed away December 3, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Society in Olathe, KS. Barron was born November 11, 1916, near La Harpe, KS, to parents William Frederick and Nora Paddeck Cole. She was preceded in death by infant son, Larry Lee Barron in 1947, daughter Kay Elwood in 1980, and husband Larry Barron in 1987. Her siblings Dorotha and George are also deceased. She is survived by daughters Shirle (Jerry) McNeal of Minnetonka, MN, and Diana (Gary) Hink of Paola, KS, and son Sean (Maria) Barron of San Antonio, TX, in addition to 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. As a girl, Zora attended Salem schoolhouse in La Harpe, before spending several years in Texas while her father worked on the Federal highway system. She later returned to Kansas City and was schooled in Westport, MO. Eventually, her artistic abilities took her to the Jane Hays Gates School for Art, until her mother"s untimely death ended her schooling. At age 20, she married Edwin Bridges. They had one daughter, Shirle. Following a divorce, she subsequently married Larry Barron, and children Kay, Diana, and Sean were born. Zora"s artistic passion flourished throughout her life; her artwork was greatly admired. Even when her vision was failing, she continued to paint. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her enjoyment of nature"s beauty, and her artistic abilities. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2010 at the Louisburg United Methodist Church in Louisburg, KS; visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. prior to service time. Memorials may be given in her name to the Louisburg United Methodist Church. Louisburg United Methodist Church 249 N.
