Zella Marie Stine was born on Monday, April 29, 1918, in Franklin County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Lloyd James and Ida Pearl (Barnhart) Sink. Zella lived the majority of her life in Franklin County, Kansas, making her home in Ottawa since the mid 1940's, until her death on Monday, February 5, 2007, at the age of eighty-eight years. She was a homemaker. She also worked for Mode O'Day for twenty-seven years and, in the mid 1990's, was assistant manager for Sunflower Plaza, both in Ottawa. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa, where she served on the Altar Society. She was also a member of Night Crawler's Camping Club. Zella was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who was very proud of her family, and had so much fun with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors and going on camping trips with her husband and was a collector of many items on their journeys. An expert seamstress, Zella created many lovely craft and crocheted items for her family and friends to enjoy through the years. On June 25, 1940, Zella was united in marriage with Andrew M. Stine in Olathe, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1989. She is also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Everett 'Bill' Sink; and sister, Esda McGrath. Mrs. Stine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Karen Stine of Ottawa, Kansas; daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and David Richeson of Oskaloosa, Kansas; five grandchildren, Michelle Duker and her husband, Kenneth, Cindy Hayden and her husband, Vince, Michael Stine, II, Anthony Richeson, Brian Richeson and his wife, Michelle; and eight great-grandchildren, Adam Richeson, Cierra Richeson, Abbigail Richeson, Catherine Tarka, Jacob Cowles, Cade Duker, Evan Duker, and Noah Duker. SERVICES: A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2007. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Stine at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5:00 pm. Tuesday to the service hour, where a Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening followed by a family visitation at 7:30 p.m. CEMETERY: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
