Yvonne “Bonnie” Olson, 75, of Pomona, Kansas passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Cremation is planned. Memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 20, 2013 at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Bonnie was born on Sunday, April 17, 1938 in Hoyt, Kansas, the daughter of James & Valerie (Green) Bausch. She graduated from Hoyt High School with the class of 1956. On June 17, 1957 Bonnie was united in marriage with Dean Olson in Hoyt, Kansas. He survives at their home in Pomona where they have lived since 1966. Other survivors include her three children, James Still of Los Angeles, California; Trucia Putney and husband Bill of Pomona, and Steve Olson of Pomona; brother, Jerry Bausch and wife Joyce of Mayetta, Kansas, sister, Donna Martin and husband Bruce of Topeka, brother, Robert Bausch and wife Susan of Marion, Illinois; six grandchildren, Rachell and Justin Putney, Janessa Whittington, and Bailey, Mia and Kylee Olson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Margie Bausch. Bonnie served on the Board of Directors and was employed as Vice-President/Cashier for Citizen’s State Bank in Pomona for thirty-eight years before retiring in 2007. She was a member of the Michigan Valley United Methodist Church. Bonnie was a coach’s wife and an avid KU Basketball fan. She was known as “grandma” to many who knew her. She had a strong work ethic and loved working in her flower garden, watching birds and butterflies.
