Wilma N. Warner, 94, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016, at Village West. Family will meet with friends from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M., Friday, March 18, 2016, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 P.M., at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, with Chaplain B. J. Ha, Avalon Hospice. Wilma was born Friday, October 28, 1921, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Thomas and Emma (Weeks) Hamby. She was a lifelong resident of Ottawa. Wilma was united in marriage with Edgar Warner November 21, 1938, in Lawrence, Kansas. He preceded her in death September 21, 1964. She was also preceded in death by her son, Edgar Ray Warner; parents, Thomas and Emma Hamby; sisters, Delane Springfield and Doris Lilly and husband Edward; brother, Glen Hamby and wife Mildred; and half brother, Delbert Mendenhall. Survivors include her two children, Dean Warner and wife Vernice of Lawrence, and Donna Young and husband Benny of Summerville, Georgia; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and twenty great-great grandchildren. Wilma farmed with her husband for 26 years and worked at Ransom Memorial Hospital from 1972 to 1984 in the dietary department. She was a member of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed taking care of her home, needlework, and helping others. The family suggests memorial contributions to Ottawa Retirement Village Activity Fund c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
