RESIDENCE HISTORY: Adeline grew up in the Madison, Kansas area until the age of fourteen, when her family moved to Wellsville. After her marriage, she and her husband lived on a farm north of Ottawa until 1978, when they moved into Ottawa. She moved to Emporia, Kansas, in the fall of 1995. EDUCATION: Adeline graduated from Wellsville High School with the class of 1931. She then attended Kansas State Teachers` College of Emporia, where she received a teaching certificate. OCCUPATION & BUSINESS: Adeline was a homemaker. She taught in rural schools for three years, worked in conservation service, was treasurer for her church,OK Photo,and in medical records at Ransom Memorial Hospital, all in Ottawa. MEMBERSHIPS: She was a member of the First United Methodist Church; United Methodist Women, where she held several offices; and, Sunshine Sunday School Class. She volunteered for the Hospital Red Cross, Hope House, and Hospice, all of Ottawa. She has been an associate member of Emporia United Methodist Church. She also delivered Meals on Wheels and Library books to `shut-ins` in Ottawa. MARRIAGE: On June 19, 1938, Adeline was united in marriage with Harry Eldon Scott at Baldwin City, Kansas. He preceded her in death August 14, 1989. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Ottawa, 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2004. Mrs. Scott requested her body be cremated after services. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. OFFICIANT: Rev. Jim Stigall. IN STATE: Mrs. Scott will lie in state at Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9:00 a.m. Thursday to the service hour. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Hereford International Foundation, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067.
