William "Will" Joseph Long, age 37, of Paola, Kansas, died October 17, 2016 at Miami County Medical Center. Will was born at Lovell, Wyoming on October 18, 1978. He was the youngest of seven children born to Joe and Alice (Arnpriester) Long. He attended school in Hanna, Wyoming, Ordway, Colorado, Rye, Colorado, Spring Hill, Kansas, and Paola, Kansas. He graduated from high school at Rye, Colorado in 1996. He played football, baseball, and basketball while in school. His last place of employment was with Johnson"s Construction, Louisburg, Kansas. He was a perfectionist when it came to his carpentry work. Besides construction, he enjoyed mechanical work. He liked to ride and work on motorcycles. He also was artistic. Will recently refurbished an old handicapped school bus. He "hippified" a van. He was a sun gazer, enjoyed getting up early to watch the sunrise and the evening sunsets. He was vegan, loved cooking using special spices. He was a very encouraging, optimistic young man. Will always found much humor at the expense of others" mishaps. In what spare time he had, much of it was spent meditating. He was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Edward Long and a great nephew James Robert Prescott. He is survived by his parents Joe and Alice Long of Paola; his siblings Bradley Long of Hemet, CA, Melanie Prescott of Naches, WA, Michael Long of Colorado Springs, CO, Nathan Long of Douglass, KS, and Matthew Long of Serverna Park, MD; 12 nieces and nephews; 7 great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
