William Swearingen

William L. "Bill" Swearingen passed away November 19, 2012 at Olathe Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. Bill was born December 6, 1942 in Miami County, Kansas to Robert and Enid Swearingen. He worked construction for many years and retired from Clarkson Construction in 2004 after 31 years. On August 15, 1964, Bill was united in marriage to R. Jane Johann. Their married life was spent in Miami County. They were proud parents of two sons, Doug and Brian. Bill"s hobbies included fishing and repairing lawn mowers. He loved to tinker in the garage and also helped friends and family with fixing anything and everything. He will be fondly remembered as the #1 hard time giver for he loved to tease and kid around. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, son Brian, three brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of the home; son Doug; three grandchildren Shelbi, Alysa and Joseph; one great granddaughter Zadi; siblings Aleta (Don) Rosner, Ruth (Karl) Lohaus, Norman (Helen) Swearingen, George Swearingen, Roy (Louise) Swearingen; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
