Rev. William Robert Weber was born on November 12, 1926, at Nebraska City, Nebraska, to William O. and Lottie M. (Secord) Weber. His siblings are Roy A. Weber, deceased, and Wanda Valasek of Omaha, Nebraska. Pastor Weber lived in Nebraska City and Omaha in Nebraska, before moving to Ottawa, in Franklin County, Kansas in 1951, where he made his home until his death Thursday, May 1, 2003, at the age of seventy-six years. He graduated from Tech High School, Omaha, Nebraska with the class of 1944; Omaha Bible Institute's School of Theology in 1949 and received an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Divinity from Bob Jones University in 1982. Upon graduation from Omaha Bible Institute's School of Theology, he served two years as pastor of Grant Bible Church in Cherokee, Iowa. He became pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Ottawa, in 1951. During his time as pastor, he was chosen pastor of the year 1968 for Kansas City Youth for Christ; served on the Board of Directors of the Baptist Church Planters Mission Board; representative of Midwest Association of Regular Baptist Churches; Chaplain of Ottawa Police and Fire Departments and Franklin County Sheriff's Department; member of International Conference of Police Chaplains; served on Board of Directors for Ottawa Crimestoppers; committee member of Veterans' Memorial; and, member of Warren Black Post #60, American Legion, Ottawa. In 1995, he retired, having spent forty-four years as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. From 1995 to present, he continued ministering in the Ottawa community. He also ministered state wide through pulpit supply. Pastor Weber touched many lives. Those who knew him saw his desire to see souls saved and lives changed. His testimony is rock solid, always providing a vision to build, grow, and do more for the Lord. Pastor Weber loved spending time with his friends. He was extremely generous with his time, energy and resources. He was a very humble person, never promoting himself, always pointing others to Christ. Pastor Weber actively promoted church music, he had a love for gospel music, especially the songs with a little 'pep'. His favorite scripture was Psalm 19:14, 'Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.' He served in World War II in the 3704th Army Air Corps, receiving the American Theater Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Ribbon, and was a member of the Air Corps Band at Keesler Field in Biloxi, Mississippi. On December 22, 1947, Bill was united in marriage with Vera M. Kejr at Wilson, Kansas. They enjoyed a loving and caring relationship. Pastor Weber and Vera have two daughters, Jacquelyn Callan and her husband, Harold, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Pamela Kliewer and her husband, Scott, of Newton, Kansas; one son, Scott Weber and his wife, Elizabeth, of Grayson, Georgia; granddaughter, Cara Callan; and, five grandsons, Nathan Callan, Jeffery Kliewer, Bradley Kliewer, Ryan Kliewer and Zachary Weber. More than anything, Pastor Weber desires that his children and grandchildren continue living for the Lord. CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF Rev.
