William Dale “Bill” Putney, 59, of Pomona, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Bill was born December 13, 1959, in Fremont, Michigan. He was the son of Dale Allen and Myra Jean (Collins) Putney. He lived in Topeka moving in 1987 to Pomona. Bill served in Germany with the United States Army from 1977 to 1979. Bill was united in marriage to Trucia Olson September 10, 1983 in Pomona. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his three children, Rachell Will and husband T.J. of Lawrence, Justin Putney and significant other Alyssa Kennington also of Lawrence, and Janessa Putney and significant other Joshua Lute of Ottawa; two siblings, Dale Putney and Barb Putney both of Topeka; eight grandchildren, Daelynn, Rhayna, Blake, Haedyn, Aaliyah, Ryker, Anita and Gabe; and great-grandson, Wyatt. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jake Putney; and brother, Doug Putney. Bill held many jobs over his life including owning and operating Wild Bill’s Lawn Service in Pomona; senior rewriter at King Radio; and an over-the-road truck driver. Bill loved his family and enjoyed driving his children crazy. He also looked forward to spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren. Bill enjoyed traveling to Texas, was an avid guitar player and loved listening to music. He also enjoyed entertaining everyone by telling stories and loved the idea of outer space.
