Wesley H. Burgoon, 86, Ottawa, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009. He was born Tuesday, May 23, 1922, at Rantoul to Lon and Ada (Latson) Burgoon. He was a lifelong Franklin County resident. He lived in Ottawa since the 1930s. He served as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in state of Washington. He was a member of Aerie Lodge No. 2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ottawa, since 1970. He worked an auto mechanic for Minnick Motors and Bob White Motors for 35 years. He owned and operated Wes Burgoon Automotive for five years and retired in 1995. He married Betty L. Lucas August 16, 1944. She survives. Survivors also include a son, Ron Keefer, his wife, Rose, Winfield; a daughter, Judy Green, Chanute; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2009. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Burgoon at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Thursday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Friday prior to the services.
