Mrs. Wendy Wilson Staats was born on June 30, 1964 in Paola, KS. She is the daughter of Shelby "Jack" Wilson and Deanna "Sue" Wilson. Wendy was married to her husband Doug Staats on September 1, 2013. Wendy Wilson Staats passed away while on her Minnesota wedding trip with husband Douglas Staats on September 5, 2013. A graduate of Paola High School class of 1982, Wendy was a lifetime resident of Paola, KS and a long time employee at the Terracon Consulting Inc in OverlandPark, KS. After leaving Terracon, Wendy established her own business as a T-Mobile franchise owner providing valuable cell phone service to Miami and Linn County residents as well as operating a travel agency, tanning bed salon and mattress sales company. As a sole proprietor of small businesses, Wendy was admired by friends and family for her dedication to work and responsible delivery of quality services to her customers. An avid PHS sports fan, Wendy was routinely part of the Panther supporters and, in fact, met her husband through their joint enthusiasm for high school sporting events. She and Doug enjoyed many evenings on Lake Miola aboard Doug's pontoon "HAPPINESS". All those who attended their wedding celebration witnessed the true happiness they shared. One of Wendy's great strengths was her commitment to her family, especially to the support of her Floridian parents who were the nexus of the Wilson family. Wendy always brought a light hearted and fun loving quality to her family and many friendships.
