Wayne Cornelius Mcconnell

Wayne Cornelius McConnell, age 89, of Overbrook, Kansas., died Friday, October 18, 2002, at Brookside Manor in Overbrook, Kansas. Wayne moved from Kansas City, Kansas, in 1937 to California, living in Huntington Park and San Diego before moving to Ottawa in 1991. He graduated from High School and attended one semester of junior college. Wayne worked as a truck driver for many years, retiring from the Cornelius Packing Company in the mid 1970`s. He was a member of the Brethren Church in LaVerne, California. On December 4, 1937, Wayne was united in marriage with Mildred Virginia Laughlin at Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death August 21, 2002. He is survived by a Son-James Robert `Jim` McConnell of Vassar, Kansas, Granddaughter-Vikki Bellinger of Waverly, Kansas, Grandson-James Robert McConnell, Jr of Paola, Kansas, Grandson-Gary McConnell of Williamsburg, Kansas, Four Stepgrandchildren and Eleven Gt. Grandchildren. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by: Father-Hugh S. McConnell, Mother-Hazel Lillian (Cornelius) McConnell and Sister-Carmen Ward. SERVICES: Private family services will be held. CEMETERY: Entombment will be in El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego, California.
