Wayne Allen Bradley was born on Friday, May 16, 1958, in Neosho, Missouri, the son of Geneva Bradley. He grew up in Diamond, Missouri. Following his military service, Wayne moved to Ottawa, Kansas in 1979 and the Centropolis-Pomona, Kansas area in 1999, where he made his home until his death on Sunday, July 27, 2008, at the age of fifty years. Wayne attended school in Diamond, Missouri. He was employed as an electrician in Electrical Maintenance thirteen years for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Plant in Topeka, Kansas. He had previously worked as an electrician in Electrical Maintenance for Wolf Creek from 1980 to 1984 and Hercules Ammunitions Plant in DeSoto from 1984 to 1994. Wayne served in the United States Navy from 1975 to 1979 attending several schools including defensive driving, electronics technician, cultural expression/phase II human relation, syncro principles, and shipboard security force training. He attended Agap' and Assembly of God Church; was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Nos. 307, 22 and 226; and former member of Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Ottawa Lodge #803, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Family was very important to Wayne. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and son-in-law, who was so proud of all his family. He also enjoyed being outdoors. On November 5, 1982, Wayne was united in marriage with Starleen Schmoe in Ottawa, Kansas. She survives of their home. He is also survived by three sons, 2nd Lt. Buck Bradley and his wife, Sarah, of Quantico, VA, Cpl. Levi Bradley of Camp Lejeune, N.C., Cord Bradley of Olathe, KS; daughter, Nichole Bradley of Pomona, KS; brother, Richard Carterman and his wife, Ruth, of Diamond, MO; three sisters, Carol Bradley of Diamond, MO, Phyllis Loving of MO, Florence Columbo of AR; mother-in-law, Sherry Wright of Ottawa, KS; father and mother-in-law, George, Sr. and Marsha Schmoe of Ottawa, KS; four brothers-in-law, Darin Schmoe and his wife, Rebecca, of Ottawa, KS, Darik Schmoe and his wife, Linda, of Pomona, KS, George Schmoe, Jr. and his wife, Jessica, of Lawrence, KS, Willilam Schmoe of Ottawa, KS; four grandchildren, Tyler, Shelby, Tucker, and Ava Bradley; several aunts and uncles, including Aunt Darlene Finch of Springfield, MO; and several nieces, nephews, gt. nieces and nephews, and gt. gt. nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his mother in 1999; uncle, Francis Finch in 2007, and aunt, Ruth Patterson in 2007. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from First United Methodist Church in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2008. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Wayne at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9:00 a.m. Friday to the service hour where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Friday evening. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to Bradley Children Education Fund, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
