Wanda L. Brumit, 86, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016, in Olathe, Kansas. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Wanda was born Friday, August 2, 1929, in Frankfort, Kansas, the daughter of Clifford and Thelma (Marshall) Welch. Survivors include her ten children, Peggy Cramer of Ottawa, Connie Stauffer and husband Gary of Overland Park, Virgil Gumm, Jr. and wife Kathy of Ottawa, Freddy Gumm and companion Lindey of Ottawa, Nevil Gumm of Ottawa, Cindy Loder and husband Bill of Topeka, Tina Morton and husband Steve of Spanaway, Washington, Cynthia Steele of Walnut Creek, California, Bradley Brumit and wife Aimee of Alba, Missouri, and Ed Henley, Jr. of Mason, Michigan; two sisters, Wauneta Burton of Baldwin City and Betty Rudy of Weatherford, Texas; and her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Gumm; companion of 25 years, Edward Henley; father, Clifford Welch; mother and stepfather, Thelma and Clarence Leupold; two sisters, Twyla Cerasari, and Beverly Zeck; brother, Bill Welch; two sons, Bryan Gilborn and Kelly Gumm; and grandson, Ryan Stenke. Wanda worked several jobs in her life. Her last place of employment was at Ottawa Retirement Village as a cook for fourteen years, retiring in 1992. Wanda loved her family more than anything. She loved to cook serving her kids and all their friends (and man could she cook!). Some things she loved earlier in life were, playing Bingo, growing beautiful flowers and plants, gardening, fishing and crossword puzzles. Wanda was also an avid fan of Royals baseball and the Wheel of Fortune. The family suggests memorial contributions to Mid-America Nutrition Program, Meals on Wheels c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
