Walter M. Miller, Jr.

Walter M. Miller, Jr., age 62, of Ottawa, Kansas passed November 29, 2024 at his residence. Walt was born August 2, 1962 in Hempstead, New York to Walter M. Miller, Sr., and Naomi (Hudkins) Miller. Walt resided in Hempstead before moving to Topeka, Kansas in 1968, where he then graduated from Topeka High School in 1980. He furthered his education by receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Washburn University in 1998.

Walt was currently employed as a dispatcher with Get Your Stuff, LLC. He was previously employed for 16 years as an Analyst for Ferrellgas.

In Walt’s spare time he enjoyed keeping up with his fitness regiment by working out at the gym. He was also was an Astronomy enthusiast.

Walt was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Arkie and Mildred Hudkins, mother-in-law Donna Swearingen; brother Leonard Miller; brother-in-law Barry Swearingen; and nephew Adam Gibson.

Survivors include his wife Laura K. Miller, Ottawa, Kansas; daughter Emma M.R. Miller, Ottawa, Kansas; father Walter M. Miller, Sr., Cold Brook, New York; mother Naomi R. Miller, Topeka, Kansas; brother Troy J. Miller, Topeka, Kansas; sister April E. Miller, Garland, Texas.

Memorial visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Franklin County Cancer Foundation or to Faith Home Health and Hospice.
