Virginia Mae Sullivan Virginia Mae Sullivan, 89, Paola, KS passed away on Sunday June 15, 2008 at the Miami County Medical Center in Paola, KS. A Prayer Service- Rosary for Virginia will be Wednesday June 18, 2008 at 6PM at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Paola, KS with a visitation to follow until 8PM. Funeral Services will be Thursday June 19, 2008 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Paola, KS at 10AM. Virginia was born on November 11, 1918 in Miami County Kansas to Frank and Ella Mae (Attebery) Knoop. She lived in the Paola KS area her whole life. She graduated from Paola High School in May of 1936. After graduating she attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg KS. She came back to Paola to work as a legal secretary for a local Attorney. She was united in marriage to Michael James Sullivan on April 26, 1939 in Paola, KS. Together they were the parents of five children. Virginia was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Paola, KS. Virginia was a member of several organizations including the ACCW President, Altar society, Miami County Hospital Auxiliary and the Senior Citizen Center. Virginia"s hobbies included playing cards, watching baseball and basketball and her favorite activity was watching her grandchildren"s sporting events. Virginia was preceded in death by her Husband Michael, infant daughter Virginia Ann, her Parents and two brothers Glendal and Clifford Knoop. Virginia is survived by her children Robert and wife Andrea Sullivan, Suzann and husband Franklin Blackmore, James and wife Linda Sullivan, Donald and wife Patricia Sullivan all of Paola, 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Surviving are also a Sister, Mildred Whitney of Baldwin City, Ks and a Brother, Omer Knoop of Gardner, KS. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
