Viola M. Noyes, age 90, of Louisburg, Ks. died February 16, 2009 at her home. She was born October 5, 1918, at Westline, Mo., the daughter of Charles and Anna Papst Ziegler of Westline, Mo. She moved to Cleveland, Mo. in 1927 and attended Cleveland schools graduating in 1936. She then attended Central Missouri State Teachers College at Warrensburg, Mo. and received her BS degree in Education. She taught 8 years in rural schools then in elementary schools in Missouri and Kansas for a total of 39 years. She retired from Louisburg School District in July 1992. She was united in marriage to John Noyes, Jr. on May 11, 1940 at Harrisonville, Mo. They had two children Joan Darlene Noyes Hadsall of Osawatomie, Ks. and James Darrell Noyes of Emporia, Ks. She was a member of KPERS, Royal Neighbors and Cleveland Christian Church. She loved to sew and quilt and quilted weekly at the Catholic Church quilting circle. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Karl, Alfred & Johnnie Ziegler, a sister, Dortha Johnson and her husband John Noyes, Jr. Survivors include her daughter and son, 3 granddaughters, Tricia Hadsall of Osawatomie, Natalie McClane of Hoyt and Kathleen Heston of Meridan, Ks and 1 great grandson Parker McClane. Services will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Louisburg Chapel. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009 at the chapel.
