Victoria Armstrong

August 31, 1938 — April 5, 2019

Victoria M. “Vicki” Armstrong passed away April 5, 2019 at North Point Skilled Nursing in Paola. Vicki was born on August 31, 1938 in Kansas City, MO to Leonard and Marian Maher Peuser. She grew up in Paola and graduated from Paola High School in 1956. Upon graduation she attended Saint Luke’s School of Nursing in Kansas City, MO. She graduated in 1959. She worked at Raytown Clinic in Raytown, MO for several years and then became a surgical nurse for a group of orthopedic surgeons in Kansas City. She was the Director of Nursing for many years at the old Miami County Hospital in Paola and then continued as Director of Nursing when the new Miami County Medical Center was built. She also worked at Osawatomie State Hospital. On September 13, 1985 she was united in marriage to Fred Armstrong. They enjoy many wonderful and memorable trips with family. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and watching KU Basketball and Kansas City Chiefs. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include her sister Patricia (Morris) Schroeder; nephew Chris Schroeder; nieces Megan Mueller and Elizabeth Schroeder; great niece Ellie Mueller; great nephew Beau Mueller; step-daughters Pamela (Steve) Overman, Pat (Donnie) Simpson, and Allison Armstrong (Mark) Scudder; 5 step-grandchildren Chris Overman, Kelly Herbster, Bryan Simpson, Jana Long and Emma Scudder; 4 step-great children Luke and Sam Long, and Tyler and Blake Herbster. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or North Point Activity Fund.
