Victor Ray Carey

Victor Ray Carey, 65, of Michigan Valley, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. The family will meet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the mortuary.

Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas

Victor was born Tuesday, February 19, 1957, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Raymond and Ruth (Turner) Carey.

He was a lifelong Franklin and Osage County resident living in Houston and Galveston, Texas for a few years.

Victor graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1975.

He was a lifelong, fifth generation plumber owning and operating Vic’s Plumbing as a general contractor for fifty years.

Victor was a former member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and attended the Michigan Valley United Methodist Church. He was a free-spirited person who enjoyed riding motorcycles, cattle farming, and restoring antique cars. Victor was an extremely hard worker who also enjoyed spending time in his tire shop in Michigan Valley, Kansas.

Survivors include daughter Samantha Barber (James) of Mississippi; grandson, Hershel Barber; sisters, Sheri Crane (Rodney) and Susan Vague (David) both of Ottawa; brothers, Mark Carey (Jana) of Ottawa, and Joseph Carey of Iraq.
