Vicki Louise Cooper-Foss, 70, of Vassar, KS passed away Monday April 10, 2023. A Catholic funeral will be
held at 12PM Friday April 14th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa, KS. Burial will be at 3PM at
Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Overland Park, KS.
Vicki was born July 5, 1952 in Topeka, KS to Richard Cooper and Helen (Caskey) Cooper she graduated
from Argentine High School in 1970 before going to work for Santa Fe Railroad where she eventually was
a supervisor. She was a generous person who helped her family in anyway they needed throughout her
life. She drove her Corvette with the windows down while blasting Paul Simon's song "Diamonds On The
Soles Of Her Shoes." She was married Nov. 11, 1989 to her husband Fredrick Foss and they were blessed
with their daughter Gabrielle that following September. She was inspired by Martha Stewart which led
her to hosting beautiful and memorable gatherings for her family and friends. She enjoyed hosting
gatherings so she had an excuse to test out the newest recipes she had found. She was always the best
confidant when searching for advice or spiritual guidance. She was the rock of the Cooper family and
always did her best to bring the family together during the holidays. One of her hobbies was taking
pictures, whether it was of beautiful sunrises, sunsets, or of her loved ones, she was rarely in the photo
because she was the one behind the camera capturing the memories. She retired in early January 2014,
and moved to Vassar Kansas later that same month.
She was preceded in death by parents Helen and Richard Cooper, by brothers John Cooper, and Rick
Cooper.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years Fred Foss of the home and their daughter Gabrielle Foss. She
is also survived by brother William Cooper, and sisters Rita Cooper and Patricia Cooper.
Flowers can be sent to Dengel Mortuary Ottawa, KS or you can make a donation to The National Kidney
Foundation.
