Verna Sue Coltrin Thomas, 74, longtime resident of Louisburg, Kansas, died Saturday morning, January 16, 2010. Sue, as she was more commonly known, was born to Ted J. and Margery O. Coltrin in Kansas City MO on February 21, 1935. As a graduate of Louisburg High School in 1953, Sue worked for Trans World Airlines for over 40 years and was a director of the TWA Alumni Group. She was also a member of The Louisburg Lions Club, The Red Hat Society, and the Immaculate Conception Alter Society. Preceding her in death are her parents and a son. Survivors include her husband Edwin of 55 years, son Edward and his wife Angie and grandchildren Molly (12) and Sam (9) of Andover, KS, son Jeffery and his wife Jessica and grandchildren Asa (4) and Kylie (2) of Hollywood, CA. Survivors also include two brothers, John Coltrin and his wife Lois of Louisburg, KS and Roger Coltrin and his wife Jan of Dallas, TX, two nieces, Johnna Ross of Louisburg, KS and Paige Crosby of Dallas, TX, and a nephew, David Coltrin of Harrisonville, MO. A visitation will be held Monday, January 18th at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Louisburg which will start with a Rosary recital at 5:00pm and continue until 8:00pm. The funeral mass will be Tuesday, January 19th at 10:00am at the church with Monsignor Bergman officiating. Burial will be immediately following at The Louisburg Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her brothers John and Roger Coltrin, sons Edward and Jeffery, and grandsons Sam and Asa. Memorials are to be directed in her name to The Immaculate Conception Alter Society.
