Verl L. Reynolds, Jr., 81, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Richmond Healthcare & Rehabilitation. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Princeton Cemetery, Princeton. Verl was born February 16, 1937, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Verl Sr. and Lucille (Saler) Reynolds. He grew up in Kansas City, Kansas moving in 1970 to Ottawa. He attended school in De Soto, Kansas. Verl was united in marriage to Judith A. Fawl August of 1970 in Ottawa. She preceded him in death on June 11, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Edward and Vernon Reynolds; and sister Mary Ann Reynolds. Survivors include his five children, Danny Reynolds and wife Doris of Conway, Missouri, Kenny Reynolds and wife Betty of Lebanon, Missouri, Renae Reynolds of Camdenton, Missouri, Clifford Reynolds of Springfield, Missouri, and Ronnie Smith and wife Jenna of Ottawa; two sisters, Darlene Thomas and husband Jack of Shawnee, and Martha Sower of Edwardsville; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Verl was a pastor who traveled all over the United States preaching the gospel at tent revivals with his wife. He also drove a truck with his wife for Horse Johnson Trucking, Nevada, Missouri.
