Velda D. Nickell, age 81, of Louisburg, KS, formerly of LaCygne, KS, died May 26, 2009 at Louisburg Care Center. She was born May 17, 1928 in Fulton, KS, the daughter of Harry & Hazel Purviance Black. She was united in marriage to Clyde Robert "Bob" Nickell on January 12, 1947 in Fort Scott, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, and brother Kenneth Black Survivors include 2 daughters, Connie Miller & husband Steve, Omaha, NE; Carol Sullivan & husband Larry, Liberty, MO; 1 son, Daryl Nickell & wife Connie, Fontana, KS; Grandchildren: Todd Miller & fiance Lori, St. Louis, MO; Lindsey Miller, Houston, TX; Rocky Williams & fiance Kristen, New Hampshire; Kelly Williams, Overland Park, KS; Payton Williams, LaCygne, KS; Colton, Mackenzie & Timmy Nickell, Fontana, KS. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Prescott Cemetery, Prescott, KS. The family suggest memorials be given Epilepsy Foundation.
