Vanessa Kay Weatherbee

Vanessa Kay Weatherbee was born Wednesday, November 22, 1967, at Ottawa, Kansas. She was the daughter of Clinton Gary Everson and Rose (Holzapfel) Laster. Vanessa lived in Colony, Kansas, three years; Garnett, Kansas, two years; Kansas City, Kansas, four years; and also Ottawa. The past three years, Vanessa made her home in Westphalia, Kansas, until her death Sunday, June 5, 2005, at the age of thirty-seven years. Vanessa graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1986. She has attended Allen County Community College for the last two years, majoring in business, and was presently pursuing her degree. She was a homemaker. Vanessa loved sports and was an avid Chief's fan. She enjoyed watching all professional football and following the NASCAR races. Vanessa's children, however, gave her the greatest joy, and she loved all their family gatherings. In 1986, Vanessa was united in marriage with Ron Corbin at Ottawa. They later divorced. On May 25, 2001, Vanessa was united in marriage with John Weatherbee at Ottawa. He survives of their home. She is also survived by her father, Clinton Gary Everson of Westphalia; mother, Rose (Holzapfel) Laster of Ottawa; three sons, Chase Corbin of Hazelwood, Missouri, Micaleb Weatherbee of the home, Roscoe Weatherbee of the home; stepdaughter, Brooklyn Nicole Willliams of Princeton, Kansas; three sisters, Robin Everson of Kansas, Kathy Barber of Ottawa, Teri Mitchell and her husband, Rick, of Welda; and two brothers, Steven Everson of Texas, Bill Longfellow and his wife, Kimiki, of Ottawa. She is preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Longfellow and stepfather, Dennis Longfellow. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Kenneth Davidson. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Weatherbee at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Wednesday evening. CEMETERY: Roselawn Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Vanessa Weatherbee`s Children`s Education Fund, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
