Tom Taylor, Sr., 69, of Williamsburg, Kansas, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022, at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. Family will meet with friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Due to inclement weather the graveside service will be moved to Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa, at 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 18, 2022. Interment will be held later at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg. Tom was born May 28, 1952, at Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Merle Henry and Elizabeth Ann (Elder) Taylor. He was a lifelong Williamsburg resident. Tom served in the 1970’s with the Ottawa National Guard. On September 12, 1970, Tom was united in marriage to Betty Adams, in Ottawa. Tom was a lifelong carpenter working in construction. He was a member of the Centropolis Baptist Church. Tom enjoyed fishing and woodworking but above all, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronnie Taylor, and grandson Domanick Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Betty of the home; five children, Wendy Green (Nick) of Ozawkie, Kansas, Lisa Vencel (Kevin) of Williamsburg, Kansas, Betty Jo Taylor of Lawrence, Kansas, Thomas Taylor, Jr. (Desiree) of Hartford, Kansas, and Alicia Wadkins (David) of Quenemo, Kansas; brother, Oscar Taylor (Dixie) of Ottawa, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
