Timothy was born Tuesday, January 4, 1949, in Mokena, Illinois, the son of Fred and Lucielle (Cooper) Ricketts.

He received his Music Education degree from Augustana College and his Masters in Conducting degree from Kansas University.

Tim was united in marriage on June 3, 1978, in Topeka, Kansas to Rebecca Scott. She survives of the home.

He was a music teacher for over thirty years in Augusta, Topeka and finally in Osawatomie, Kansas, where he was a mentor and positive influence on the many students who were in his classroom.

Near the end of his teaching career, Tim felt the call to enter ministry. He went back to college at Central Seminary and earned a Master of Divinity degree. He then spent the next thirteen years as the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Waverly, Kansas.

Tim was a devoted husband to his wife of forty-five years and a loving father to his three boys. He enjoyed movies, reading traveling, and had a fondness for learning history. He loved growing roses and had a quick wit that produced groan inducing puns. His love of music was evident in everything he did, and often had a song to sing for any occasion.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving family includes his wife Rebecca; children Marc (Erika), Matthew (Heather); and David; grandchildren Nathan, Lee, Sean, Maisie, and Timothy; and brother Thomas.

The family suggests memorial contributions to The Assistance Fund (provides Parkinson’s medications to patients) or First Baptist Church Waverly c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
