Thomas Franklin Fangrow Sr. of Louisburg, KS, passed away Saturday, August, 2, 2014 at the Atriums Assisted Living, Overland Park, KS. Tom was born February 17, 1925 in Shawnee, KS and graduated from Shawnee Mission North high school where he was active in the FFA. He was united in marriage to Marie Engrasciotta on November 17, 1951. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving in the 287th U.S. Army Engineering Combat Battalion in Europe. After the war he assisted in the construction of the Ballistic Missile Early Warning Radar System in Greenland. Later he became a successful businessman and retired a lifelong entrepreneur. Tom was a caretaker of the land and enjoyed raising horses and cattle. He was a member of the American Legion Post 250, VFW Post 7348, Knights of Columbus and served on the Miami County Zoning Board. He assisted with many events at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He has lived in Louisburg, KS since 1971. Tom was preceded in death by his daughter Hazel, three brothers, James, Bill and Fred and two sisters, Marie and Daisy. He is survived by his wife Marie, two sons, Tom Jr. and David, four grandchildren Katherine, Paul, Sarah, and Eric, one great-grandson Braeden and many nieces and nephews.
