Therman L. Bond, age 96 of Louisburg, Ks, passed away on December 21, 2008. 'Babe' was born to Arthur D. and Oveary Bond in Etterville, Mo, on November 9, 1912. In June of 1939, he married Treva Kelsay of Eldon, Mo. To support the homeland WW II effort, he moved to Kansas City, Ks to work for North American Aircraft in 1943; later to work from 1946 -1971 with General Motors Fairfax BOP assembly plant. In 1974 he and Treva retired to Eldon, Mo. where they lived until 2004, moving to Louisburg, Ks, to be near children and grandchildren. Babe's zest for life manifested itself in his tireless work providing for family. He enjoyed his orchard, vegetable, and lawn gardening, local fishing, as well as summer fishing vacations in Minnesota. Babe"s sons had many laughs from his candor and wit; yet, from this man of few words, we learned life can be good by exercising common sense, honesty, and fairness. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Truman and Pauline; and in 2003 by his wife, Treva. He is survived by his children Marilynn Gump, Mission, Ks; Arthur Bond, Hartford, Ks; Richard Bond & wife Kathleen Cooper, Leawood, Ks; Larry Bond & wife Lusia, Louisburg, Ks; Gary Bond, Los Angeles, Ca. and 10 grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, December 27, 2008 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon, Mo. with services following at 11:00AM. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Eldon, Mo. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Good Samaritan Project, Kansas City, Missouri, or the Louisburg Masonic Peace Lodge 243. Phillips Funeral Home 5 S.
