Theren Dean Weidner, 58, of Ottawa, KS, died at his home Tuesday, February 2, 2021. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Cherry Street Wesleyan Church, 933 N. Cherry, Ottawa. Family will meet with friends following the service. Inurnment will be held later at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg. Theren was born January 31, 1963, at Ottawa, Kansas, the son of James C. Weidner and Joyce Faye (Ackerman) Weidner. He was a lifelong Ottawa resident, graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 1981. Theren was employed with C.O.F. Training Services in the 1980’s; Haven Steel in the 1990’s as a janitorial worker; and Walmart in the late 1990’s to early 2000’s also as a janitorial worker. He was a member of Cherry Street Wesleyan Church. Theren enjoyed watching the movie series Rocky, riding motocross, dirt bikes, and motorcycles. He had a unique ability of remembering the names and faces of those he met. He was preceded in death by his father, James Weidner; maternal grandparents, Edward and Opal Ackerman; and nephew, Josh McCord. Survivors include his mother, Joyce Weidner of Ottawa; siblings, Ronda (Tony) McCord, Scott (Billie Jo) Weidner, and Keith Weidner all of Ottawa; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; and long-time close friend, Traci Porteous of Ottawa.
