Theodore Nay

September 23, 1946 — August 19, 2012

Theodore "Ted" Davis Nay, 65, of Spring Hill, KS, passed away August 19, 2012 at his home after battling prostate cancer for 23 years. He was born September 23, 1946 at Paola, KS, the son of Albert Nay and Helen (Weaver) Wood. Ted moved to Louisburg, KS in 1954 graduating from Louisburg High School with the class of 1964. In 1965 he married Patricia Hook which later ended in divorce. They had one son, Rusty Nay. Ted married Brenda Arnold on May 31, 1984. He joined the United States Navy Seabees in 1968. He served one year in Viet Nam, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation and Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star before being honorably discharged March of 1970. He went to work for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company at the Louisburg plant for 38 years before retiring in 2003. He was a life member of the Louisburg American Legion Post #250 serving as commander for 1 year, and life member of the VFW. In 2004 Ted and Brenda sold their home in Louisburg and became full time R-V"ers. They traveled the United States and Canada for six years until his health wouldn"t let him travel any more. He loved camping, traveling and making new friends all across the country. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Nay and Step-father Max Wood. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Nay, of the home; one son, Rusty Nay and wife Kelly, Louisburg, KS; one Step-son , Jeffrey Arnold and wife Suzanne, Spring Hill, KS; one step-daughter, Tonya Dozier and husband Tim, Dunbar, NE; his mother, Helen Wood, Leawood, KS; six grandchildren, Matthew Nay, Lawrence, KS; Michael Nay, Maryville, MO; Bradley Arnold, Edwards, CO; Brent Arnold, Spring Hill, KS; Kayla and Dalton Dozier, Dunbar, NE; 2 brothers, Tim Nay and sister-in-law Mary, Overland Park, KS; and Joe Wood and sister-in-law Cindy, Belton, MO; one sister, Carrie Brooks, Olathe, KS; one aunt, Elsie Wells Stephens, many nephews, nieces and cousins.
