Mary Thelma Mosher was born on Wednesday, October 9, 1912, at Ottawa, Kansas. She was the daughter of John Henry and Mary (Sprinkle) Woke. She lived northwest of Ottawa, and attended Chapel Hill School. In 1948, she and her husband, Philip, moved to their farm, near Wellsville, living there forty-five years. In 1993, she moved to Ottawa, where she made her home until she passed on to her home in Heaven on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at the age of ninety-eight years and eight months. She attended Stewart’s Beauty Academy in Topeka, and later worked at Mable’s Beauty Shop in Ottawa four and one-half years. On March 1, 1945, Thelma married Philip M. Mosher at Lawrence. To this union two children were born: a son, Douglas Frederick, and a daughter, Sharon Kay. Thelma was a homemaker. She also worked for many years assisting her husband in various areas of his work. She spent many hours gardening. She enjoyed cooking and baking, preparing great meals for her family, and giving to her family in so many ways. She also enjoyed her flower gardens. She was an active member of the Town and Country Church of Christ, and a former member of the Worthwhile Club, rural Wellsville. Her husband, Philip, passed on January 23, 1993.
