Thelma Scott Neill, age 87, of Louisburg, KS died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Louisburg Care Center. She was born March 14, 1923 at Quenemo, KS, the only child of Edward Lloyd and Mildred Leona (Ayrault) Scott. She was united in marriage to Lewis W. Neill on January 8, 1942 at Centropolis, KS. They lived in Quenemo until 1950, moving to Louisburg, KS. Thelma and Lewis celebrated 53 years of marriage. Four children were born to this union, Wesley, Dick, Joyce and David. Thelma was part owner operator of Neill Garage with her husband Lewis, along with working various jobs throughout the Louisburg community. Lewis and her loved to play Canasta with friends. She enjoyed gardening, garage sales and was always there to take in a pet that needed love and a new home. Thelma was one that always put others first. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lewis Neill, and 2 sons, Wesley and Dick Neill, sister-in-law Francis Cowan, and brother-in-law Cecil Neill Survivors include 1 daughter, Joyce Seuferling and husband Jim, Drexel, MO; 1 son, David Neill and wife Loree, Louisburg, KS; 3 grandchildren, Eric, Chris and Amy Seuferling; 2 brother-in-laws, Larry Neill and wife Kathy, Kansas City, MO; and Maynard Cowan, Lyndon, KS; 1 sister-in-law, Audry Neill, Pueblo, CO; many cousins and friends. The visitation will be on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at First Baptist Church, Louisburg, KS from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with services following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Louisburg Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be given to Louisburg First Baptist Church Building Fund or Louisburg Senior Center. First Baptist Church 406 S. Vine.
