Louise was a near lifelong Franklin County, Kansas resident. She graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1937. As a young woman, Louise worked as a beautician in Topeka and later owned a beauty shop in Williamsburg. She worked in the composing department at the Ottawa Herald from January 7, 1974, until retiring December 31, 1986, and through the years helped on their farm. Louise Edgecomb, 87, Williamsburg, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at the Richmond Care Center, Richmond. She was born April 10, 1920, at Melvern to Peter and Vida Ethel (Edington) Greeve. Louise was a member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church and a former member of United Methodist Women and Friendly Neighbors Home Extension Unit. On September 1, 1940, Louise was united in marriage with Jesse Albert Edgecomb in Fort Scott, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1994. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Edgecomb, and his wife, Donna, Pomona; a daughter, Cheryl Pope, and her husband, Richard, Pomona; granddaughters, Tracey Audano and Rochelle Nelson; grandsons, Bret Pope, Michael Edgecomb and Ryan Edgecomb; great-granddaughters, Jessica Audano and Lynnea Nelson; and great-grandsons, Jesse Pope, Jacob Audano, Ty Pope, Judd Pope and Ethan Edgecomb. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond F. Greeve. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from Williamsburg United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2007. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Edgecomb at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, where the family will meet with friends from 7 to 8:00 Friday evening.
