Thelma Davidson, age 93, of Louisburg, Kansas, passed away May 27, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Louisburg First Baptist Church, 406 S. Vine Street, Louisburg, Kansas 66053. Burial will follow at the Louisburg Cemetery.
Thelma was born on September 30, 1930, in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She completed the 8th grade while living in Oklahoma. Thelma married her life-long sweetheart Roy Davidson on July 13, 1948. They moved to Oregon with Roy’s family after only two weeks of being married. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Pam, prior to moving back to Stilwell, Oklahoma. After the move, they had their second daughter, Connie. In 1957, the family moved to Louisburg, Kansas, built their current home in the 1960’s, and lived here ever since.
Thelma spent most of her career working for Criss’s Market, which later became Buy Rite, and finally Price Chopper. She worked for 31 years, before retiring in 1991. After retirement, Thelma enjoyed reading books, putting together puzzles, word searches, playing cards, and spending time with her family. She could often be found watching her favorite sports teams, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and the Oklahoma Sooners. Although private, her faith was very important to her. Thelma and Roy were baptized together at the Chalk Bluff Creek, in Stilwell, Oklahoma, by her cousin, Arthur Essary.
No matter where she went, people always commented on how sweet Thelma was. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, nana, and friend. Thelma was a strong woman that never complained, no matter what life threw at her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Roy Davidson, daughter, Connie Flaigle, son-in-law, Ronnie Flaigle, parents, Earl and Belle Lowe, and six siblings, Goldie Eagleton, Claude Lowe, Sam Lowe, Sue Dotson, Pansy Atkinson, and JT Lowe.
Thelma was survived by one daughter, Pam Waite (Mike/Handyman), one sister, Billie Adair, four grandchildren: Michelle (Rob), Jamie (Gracie), Angie (Brian), and Nate (Kaci), seven great grandchildren: Bailey (Mitchell), Blake, Braden, Zach, Shyloh, Brooklyn, and Brock, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
