Theda Faye (Beets) Clark, 81 of Paola, passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at Olathe Medical Center. Theda was born June 27, 1929, to Ralph and Hazel Beets in Hillsdale, Kansas; one of five children. The family relocated to Paola in 1943. On October 8, 1948, she was united in marriage to Martin R. "Cobbs" Clark, he preceded her in death. Together her and Martin "Cobbs" operated a liquor store in Paola for many years. In earlier years she was employed by the Coat Factory and Paola City Hall. In 1979 she was united in marriage to Orville Martin Garrison, the marriage ended in divorce. Theda was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother; a joy to be around, and always ready to share or enjoy a good joke. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, working puzzles, bird-watching, especially the hummingbirds, and generally liked being outdoors. She was a member of the Catholic Church, she dedicated her life to her family, always willing to help with the illnesses they suffered. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the local VFW Chapter. Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Robert "Bob" Clark in 2004, son, Richard "Rich" Clark in 2005; and three brothers, Alfred, Duke, and Lyle Don Beets. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Beth Clark of Olathe; granddaughters, Candice Clark of Paola, and Keely Clark of Ottawa; and one sister, Loveta Medlin of Spring Hill. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
