Terrance Jay “Terry” Ferguson, 61, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014, at his home in Ottawa, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Assembly of God Church in Ottawa. Family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. He was born Wednesday, December 31, 1952, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Frederick E. and Sheila (Eoff) Ferguson. Terry was a lifelong Ottawa resident. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1972. He later attended a mechanical institute in Emporia. Terry was united in marriage with Tina Gordon in 1985, at the family farm in Ottawa. They later divorced. Survivors include his two children, Brian Ferguson and wife Michelle of Ottawa, and Jennifer Quinlan and husband John of Perry, Kansas; three sisters, Judy Fabert and husband Bud, Peggy Streebin and husband Mike, and Shari Williams and husband Steve, all of Ottawa; two half-sisters, Crystal Vali of Nevada, and Victoria Crouse of Topeka, Kansas; half-brother, William Heckert of New York; three grandchildren, Sierra and Cody Ferguson, and Bradley Quinlan. He was preceded in death by his parents. Terry has been employed by Ottawa Truck for twenty-eight years working as an assembler. Prior to Ottawa Truck, he worked as a rough in carpenter and mechanic.
