Teresita Louise Neilsen, age 84, of Cleveland, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at her home.
Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 am, Friday, April 4, 2025, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Wea Catholic Church, 22779 Metcalf Road, Bucyrus, Kansas 66013. Visitation will follow from 10:00 am to 10:30 am. Funeral mass will take place at 10:30 am.
She was born on June 21, 1940, in San Diego, California. An alumna of the Academy of Our Lady of Peace, class of 1958, Teresita's education laid the foundations for a life defined by creativity and compassion.
Throughout her life, Teresita skillfully balanced her roles as an office manager at Mount Lassen Trout Farm and as the heart of her family, where memories were crafted and nurtured among the vibrant blooms she loved dearly.
Her talents as a seamstress and a gardener brought joy into her home, while her penchant for needlework and crafting allowed her to express her love through handmade gifts. She was known for her sassy spirit and for savoring moments with a glass of wine in the evening, often relishing in heartfelt conversations with her family.
Over the past six years, Teresita was a member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Wea Parish. She took great pride in her role as a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, deeply cherishing the times spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was everything to Teresita; they were her pride and joy, filling her life with laughter and love.
Teresita leaves behind her loving children, Toni (David) Procarione and Donna Payne, along with her siblings: Sister M Veronique, Gregory (Rhio) Wiedower, Margaret Wiedower, and Rebecca (Douglas) Gilbert, seven grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Neilsen, step-mother, Patricia Wiedower, along with her step-siblings: Thomas, Mary Beth, Kathleen, Edward, Barbara, and Patricia.
Teresita is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Odelia Wiedower; her husbands, Francis Neilsen and Everett "Pat" Connor; her son, Jeffery Neilsen; her sisters, Marilyn (Conrad) Gillespie, Bernadette Wiedower, and Madeline Wiedower; her son-in-law, Lloyd Payne; and her step-brother, Michael Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made payable to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, P.O. Box 669, Louisburg, Kansas 66053.
