Teresa Lynn Newman

Teresa Lynn Newman, 61, of Louisburg, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2023 at her daughter's home in Paola.

She was born on January 17, 1962 to Kermit and Deanna (Minard) Thorne in Kansas City, Kansas. She lived in Kansas City for 30 years until moving to Miami County where she made her home for 16 years and then Louisburg for the last 15 years.

She worked as a lab technician for Lab One.

Teresa was united in marriage to Patrick Arnold Newman at Wolcott Baptist Church in Piper, Kansas. Together they had two daughters Jessica and Stacy. Patrick preceded her in death in 1992.

She was very outgoing. She had a goofy personality and never met a stranger. She loved swimming, rescuing and adopting animals, the ocean in Florida, and traveling. She especially enjoyed being around her grandchildren and her close friends and family.

Teresa is survived by her daughters Jessica Newman and Stacy Newman; mother Deanna Thorne (Minard) of Coffeyville; brother Allen ( Sami) Thorne of Coffeyville; sisters Debra (J.D.) Price of Branson, Missouri, Jennifer (Joe) Sixta of Garnett, and Delia (Paul) Krstolich of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Kermit R. Thorne and her husband Patrick Newman.
