Teresa Dale Miller, 71, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. A celebration of life will be held later. Teresa was born June 24, 1948 in Ottawa, the daughter of Clayton Dale and Elizabeth D. (DeMaranville) Watts. She was a lifelong resident of Ottawa, attending Ottawa High School. One of her greatest accomplishments was when she obtained her GED in 1978. Teresa was employed with various companies throughout the years including, H.D. Lee in Ottawa, Hallmark Cards in Lawrence, King Radio in Lawrence, bartending at different establishments, and Amarr Garage Doors in Lawrence. She was a CNA with Ottawa Retirement Village for 4 years, retiring in 2018. She was a member of the Aerie Lodge 2700 Fraternal Order of Eagles of Ottawa, and the Aerie Lodge 309 Fraternal Order of Eagles of Lawrence. Teresa enjoyed reading; particularly romance novels, gambling at casinos, and was an Elvis Presley and Vince Gill fan. Over the last 11 years, Teresa’s best friend in life was her dog Luna. They were always together, running errands and getting burgers or chicken nuggets, depending on Luna’s mood that day. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Audrey Reed and brother Donald Stevens. Survivors include her two children, Stacey Mason and husband Mike of Mount Dora, Florida, and Clayton Bledsoe and wife Linda of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Clayton “Buck” Watts and wife Suzanne of Ottawa; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The family suggests memorial contributions to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
