Tanya (June) Henson

Our loving wife and mother was called to be with the Lord on January 25, 2008, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Tanya was born March 30, 1943 in North Kansas City, Mo. to Elman R. and Mildred (Purvis) June. She attended Paola High School and after graduating in 1962 she met and married Michael E. Henson on January 20, 1962. From this union two children were born; Tamara and Michael R. She will always be remembered for her steadfast devotion to her family and love of animals. Tanya will now join her parents and her sister Myna McCullough, that have gone before her. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Michael of Paola, and by her daughter Tamara and husband Curt Gabbert of Olathe, and by her son Michael R. and wife Misty Henson of Big Spring, Tx. She is also survived by six grandchildren and by nieces and nephews. Her loving spirit will be deeply missed by her family and her many friends.
