T. Scott Wilson Jr., 89, of Olathe, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 surrounded by family at Olathe Medical Center. He was born on January 7, 1924, in Floydada, TX, the son of T. Scott and Frances Wilson. He graduated from Garfield High School in Arkansas. Scott was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1948. He earned a purple heart after serving in the European theatre in WWII and later stationed on the Korean peninsula. He retired in 1979 from General Motors" Fairfax plant where he prided himself on being able to "fix just about anything." He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Francis Stone. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 67 years, Betty Lou and their two daughters Gale and Julie. Surviving family include; Gale and George Schlagel and their children, Aaron and Sarah Schlagel, Andra and Ben Long, and Anne" and Jim Erickson. Surviving family, Julie and Justo Sibala and their sons J.C. and Taylor. Jan Wilson and Tanya Henderson are surviving nieces. He will be fondly remembered for his contagious laugh, his enthusiastic doorbell ringing and his impersonation of a bobcat squeal. He would announce time for Christmas dinner prayers with "ATTENT HUT". He sought travel and adventure and loved his Lord. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Presbyterian Church or the American Lung Association.
