Suzanne A. Thompson, 73, of Princeton, Kansas, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022, at AdventHealth Ottawa.

The family will meet with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2022, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.

Inurnment Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg, will be held later.

Suzanne was born October 3, 1949, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of William George and Dorothy A. (Brown) Toumberlin.

She was a lifelong Franklin County resident, graduating from the Ottawa Adult Education Center in 1983 and later graduated from Cosmetology School in Lawrence.

In the late 1960’s, Suzanne was united in marriage to Bruce L. Lane, Sr. They later divorced but were blessed with five children, Bruce Jr., Michelle, Kathryn, Linda, and Toni. On May 11, 1990, Suzanne married Daniel Thompson in Ottawa. They later divorced.

Suzanne was a devoted lifelong homemaker. She loved being with her family and always enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren’s sporting events. She also enjoyed fishing, traveling, crossword puzzles, going to the Casino to play slot machines, and her favorite companion dog Pee Wee.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Ottawa Lodge 803, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Dorothy Toumberlin, and son Michael Thompson.

Survivors include her five children, Bruce Lane, Jr. and wife Teresa of Lyndon, Kansas, Michelle Fesenmeyer and her significant other Tom Bass of Ottawa, Kathryn Snover and her husband Dustin of Ottawa, Linda Marshall and her fiancé Brent Hawkins of Topeka, Kansas and Toni Hartpence of Derby, Kansas; two siblings, George Allen Toumberlin and wife Phyllis, and Connie Sleichter and husband Keith all of Princeton, Kansas; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Suzanne Thompson Memorial Fund c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
