Susan “Sue” Rowland, 80, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at her home in Ottawa, Kansas. Funeral services will be held from the First Baptist Church, 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 20, 2014. Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Rowland at Dengel & Son Mortuary from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M., Thursday, where the family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. She was born Thursday, March 1, 1934, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of Francis Edward and Carolyn Emma (Triem) Sheehan. Sue grew up in Ohio, moving to Germany where she lived for ten years and graduated high school. In 1957, Sue was united in marriage with Cecil Wolgast in Germany and moved to Ottawa the same year. They were later divorced. On November 26, 1983, Sue married Marvin L. Rowland in Ottawa. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2012. She worked more than twenty-five years in assembly for King Radio. Sue was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ottawa, for more than fifty years making her a Heritage Member. Survivors include her son, Wayne Wolgast and wife Debby of Eudora, Kansas; daughter, Ellen Kratzberg and husband Mike of Princeton; two stepsons, Jerry Rowland and wife Joella of Vassar, and John Rowland and wife Penne of Williamsburg; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; siblings, Robert “Bobby” Sheehan of Davis, California, and Ellen Litchfield of Lake Placid, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her parents; brother, Frank Trien; sister, Mary Alice Wahlstrom; brother, Stephen Sheehan; and stepdaughter, Janice Warrick.
