Sue Scherman

Sue O. Scherman, age 84, of Paola, passed away on June 13, 2012 at Villa St. Francis Care Center in Olathe. Sue was born July 19, 1927 in Seoul, Korea to Chong Mun Hong and Bong Hi Yim. She grew up in Korea and on January 13, 1965, she was united in marriage to Donald Scherman. They made their home in Seattle, Washington, until Sue moved back to Korea after the passing of her husband. In the early 1990"s Sue moved to Paola to be near her niece and care giver. Sue was involved with the Foster Grandparents program. She loved children and was a sweet caring person. She was devoted to her Catholic faith, enjoyed cooking, sewing, and was always thinking of others. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother. She is survived by her brother Sun Ki of Seoul, Korea; many nieces and nephews, especially her niece and care giver Ruth Scherman and family, Jenny Hurlbut, Lindsey and Brandon Johnson and their children Milee and Mason; and brother-in-law Jerry and wife Lucille Scherman. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Memorial Contributions may be made to Villa St. Francis.
