Steven Michael Waxmonski, 42, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, in Kansas City, Missouri. Family will meet with friends from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Private graveside inurnment will be held later. Steven was born November 9, 1979, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Joseph and Mary (Byers) Waxmonski. He grew up in Linwood, Kansas, moving to Ottawa in 2005. He graduated from Linwood-Basehor High School with the Class of 1998. On February 12, 2006, Steven was united in marriage to Sara Valentine in Galveston, Texas. They celebrated 15 years of marriage. Steven was employed at GardaWorld in Kansas City, Missouri, as a dispatcher for 10 years. Steven was always very kind. He had a huge heart and was a good man, always helping others. He loved his family, wife and daughter and always looked forward to the time they spent together. Steven enjoyed bonfires with the family, hunting, fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Waxmonski. Survivors include his wife Sara and daughter Peityn Waxmonski both of the home; father, Joseph Waxmonski of Linwood, Kansas; and four siblings, Joseph Waxmonski, Jr. (Desiree) of Linwood, Roxanne Lantchible (Kangnivi) of Ottawa, Travis Waxmonski (Jamie) of Basehor, and Tiffany Johnson (LeMan) of Raytown, Missouri; mother and father-in-law, Karen and Clark Valentine; brother-in-law, Brandon Valentine (Susie); and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family suggests memorial contributions to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter or the Blessing Box Foundation c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
