Steven A. Herman, Sr.

Steven A. Herman Sr., 65, of Lane, Kansas, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Olathe Medical Center. A celebration of life will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., Saturday, December 22, 2018, at the Lane Community Building, 402 S. Kansas Avenue, Lane, Kansas 66042, where a barbeque dinner will be provided to family and friends who attend. Steven was born Monday, August 17, 1953 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Albert Ralph and Genevieve Helena (Clair) Herman. He graduated from the Perry-Lecompton High School. Steven lived in Rantoul from 1982 to 1996. He moved to Kansas City, where he resided for twelve years. He moved to Lane where he has lived for the last ten years. Survivors include his three children, Chad Herman, Steven Herman Jr., and Kristie Bass; brother, Bernard Herman; sisters, Katherine Valdivia and Patricia Zimmerman; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Genevieve Herman; and son, Shawn Herman. He drove for Robert’s Dairy for over 30 years in Kansas City, Missouri. Steven was a member of Teamsters Local Union 41 in Kansas City. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved being outdoors. Steven liked to spend his time barbequing and smoking meats.
