Stephen Reece Locke, 55 years of age, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born on February 8, 1962 to Vic and Jo Locke in Coffeyville, Kansas. He attended Field Kindley High School where he played baseball and basketball and graduated in 1980. He then went to Coffeyville Community College on a baseball scholarship. Steve was an avid pitcher that transferred to Baker University and finished his college career at Pittsburg State University. One of his greatest baseball moments was when he pitched 7 great innings against K-State University and held them to 1 run. Steve and Robyn united in marriage on October 17, 1992.He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local #83 for several years. Those who knew Steve knew how proud he was to be the father of Hunter and Hayley Locke and being involved in coaching their sports. During the hunting season, Steve enjoyed gathering his friends and son and going out to the cabin. He was a great husband and father to Hayley and Hunter and his biggest pride and joy was being a PaPa to his two grandchildren, Oakleigh and Talon Locke. He was a loved man by all who knew him. Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents. He leaves to cherish his memories and family legacy his wife Robyn Locke of 24 years; his two children Hunter (Lindsay Locke) of Paola, Kansas and Hayley Locke of Pittsburg, Kansas; his parents Vic and Jo Locke of Coffeyville, Kansas and his sister Vicky Berberick (Pat Berberick) of Wichita, Kansas. He had two nephews and one niece. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge at 1120 Pennsylvania Ave., Kansas City, Missouri 64105.
