Stephanie Knecht

Stephanie Lyn Knecht, age 37, of Paola, Kansas, passed away September 9, 2015 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri. Stephanie was born September 12, 1977 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the second of three daughters born to Don and Debi (Sevy) Anthony. She grew up in Paola and graduated from Paola High School with the Class of 1996. She attended Johnson County Community College and then continued her education at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. She attended grade school, was baptized, confirmed, and married at First Lutheran Church in Paola. She was united in marriage to Joseph E. Knecht, Jr. on September 8, 2001. They made their home in Paola and became the parents of a son Jaden and daughter Jordyn. Stephanie worked as an office manager at Premier Benefits in Leawood for the past three years. She had previously worked for Farm Bureau Insurance Company in Paola. She was a coach for the Paola Girls" Softball Association. She was also a proud Paola Wrestling Club mom. Stephanie was an incredible woman who made an impact on every person she met. She strived to be authentic and genuine in everything she did. She was kind and generous and could find the good in any person and the positive in any situation. Her laughter was contagious and her smile will never be forgotten by anyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers James Anthony, Harold Sevy, Sr. and Weldon Debrick, father-in-law Joseph Knecht, Sr., step father-in-law Charles Peckman, and niece Morgan Heger. She is survived by her husband Joe, son Jaden, and daughter Jordyn all of the home; her parents Don and Debi Anthony of Paola; paternal grandmother Erma Anthony of Paola; maternal grandparents Richard and Oreta Wadley of Ft. Myers, Florida; sisters Elizabeth Stanchfield and husband Colby of Paola and Rebecca Phipps and husband Adam of Lenexa; mother-in-law Wendy Peckman of Paola; brother-in-law Justin Heger and his wife Kristie of Paola; three nephews; three nieces; many other relatives and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Jaden and Jordyn Knecht Education Fund.
