Stanley Stan Johnson, 78, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Olathe Medical Center. Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at the Church of the Nazarene, 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Family will meet with friends at 1:00 P.M., prior to services. Stanley was born on Sunday, December 1, 1935 in Visalia, California, the son of Arthur Art and Erma (Willingham) Johnson. He grew up in Arroyo Grande, California and lived in various locations throughout the United States before moving to Ottawa in 2002. He graduated from Arroyo Grande High School with the class of 1953 and attended Cal Poly University. On November 20, 1964 Stanley was united in marriage with Roxie Lee Howard in Arroyo Grande. She preceded him in death in 1997. Stan was also preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving companion, Eileen Nickola; two daughters, Katherine Leigh Jones and husband John of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Paula Kathleen Morrison of Oxford, Kansas; granddaughter, Bailey Elizabeth Morrison; grandson, Andrew Wesley Givens; siblings, Jeanine Bair and husband Don of Nevada, Diane Smith and husband Don also of Nevada, and Jeff Johnson of California. He worked for Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant, as a structural steel inspector, from 1977 to 1990; and a milkman, for seven years, while living in Idaho. Stan served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1961. He was a member of The Poetry Room and was an avid Bingo player.
