Shon Showalter, 50, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018, at the Olathe Hospice House. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Evergreen Mound Cemetery, Ottawa. Family will meet with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 24th, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Shon was born June 7, 1968, in Belton, Missouri, the son of Ronald and Inger (Pederson) Showalter. He was a lifelong Ottawa resident. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1986. Shon was united in marriage to Hollie Crawford November 11, 1989, in Ottawa. She survives of the home. Other survivors include five children, Baylee Jordan and husband Kyle of Appleton, Wisconsin, Taylor Green and husband Brian of Pomona, Jacob Showalter of Ottawa, Joshua Showalter and Justin Showalter of the home; parents, Ronald and Inger Showalter of Ottawa; three siblings, Marlo Showalter and Jamie Peterson of Eudora, Amber Herron and husband Jim of Billings, Montana, and Cody Showalter and wife Erika of Overland Park; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Shon was a hard-working dairy farmer and was employed with Wright Tree Service. He loved spending time with his children, milking cows and farming.
